Rahul Krishnan Appointed Young Director to Karma Kalakendram

Karma Kalakendram proudly announces the appointment of Rahul Krishnan as its Young Director, marking a significant step toward generational transformation in the organisation’s leadership and creative direction.

A native of Kerala, Rahul brings a unique blend of academic excellence, student activism, and cultural leadership to Karma. He holds a B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and an M.Tech in Industrial Safety – Health, Safety, Environment, and Management (HSEM) from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). He further advanced his academic journey with an MSc in Fire Safety Engineering from Ulster University, Northern Ireland.

Beyond his technical expertise, Rahul is widely recognised for his dynamic contributions to student and cultural life. He is the Founder Chairperson of the Keraleeyam Society at Ulster University, a pioneering initiative dedicated to promoting Kerala’s rich artistic and cultural heritage, while also celebrating linguistic diversity on campus. Through Keraleeyam, Rahul successfully introduced regional festivals and ethnic minority activities to the Ulster Belfast Campus, creating a platform for inclusive and intercultural engagement.

Rahul’s leadership journey began at Cochin University, where he served in various roles including that of Campus Leader of a progressive student organisation and an active member of the Cochin University Union. His experience in organising student-led events and leading cultural initiatives spans both Indian and Northern Irish academic contexts—making him an ideal fit for Karma’s evolving vision.

This appointment signifies more than a title. It reflects Karma Kalakendram’s commitment to nurturing young leadership and fostering creative capacity-building within the diasporic arts landscape. Rahul's dual grounding in technical education and grassroots cultural organisation is expected to enrich Karma’s future programming and deepen its community impact.
